Hey Wheeling to Dream readers! This is one of the first of many posts we will be writing in the coming months.
This post will however will be very different than anything you will get going forward.
We are full swing into selling our home right now and just a matter of days away from handing over the keys.
This process has been exhausting, joyful, stressful and overall hard.
We own a 2000 square foot home that was absolutely filled to the brim. It took us a solid 8 months to declutter and sell nearly everything we didn’t want to keep. The main things we kept were dressers, our dining table and our nightstands. Pretty much the brand new furniture that we know we will use again.
8 long months are soon coming to an end and we will say goodbye to the first home that made us homeowners.
We have been busy making repairs, getting a new roof put on, replacing the sewer, painting, fixing floors and more. All in time to list it for sale on January 1st.
We live in a military community and are extremely blessed that our home went under contract 16 days after listing for sale by owner. We know this is rare in terms of what’s average out there.
So as we head into this next phase of our journey I thought it was the right time to give you a little insight into what you can expect from us.
So without further rambling let’s get to it.
We started this journey last year in March after we came to the conclusion that RV life was for us. You can read our decision to start RVing here if you want to know more about that.
This post isn’t for that… it’s to tell you what you will get from us.
Our plan right now is to officially hit the road at the end of March. We have a few things to settle and family to visit before we can officially hit the open road.
First things first…
Website Redesign
Because I built this website last year in May and we have decided to incorporate a YouTube show as part of our media we need to do a bit of a redesign to make those videos more front and center.
That redesign will be coming sometime in March or April. I do all of our web designing and tech work so I will have to carve time out of my already busy schedule to make this piece happen.
Content from Us
You are going to get a myriad of content from Wheeling to Dream. We aren’t just a website focused around RV living full time. We are a family with years of experiences, hobbies and passions that we will be layering on top of the travel stuff.
Travel Content
The majority of the content we put out including videos will be around travel. We plan to write bucket lists, travel guides, reviews of campgrounds, gear and more. You will also see posts that will include tips for using and living in your RVs.
We have 2 young kids so most of our content will be family based. We know there are a lot of readers that might be couples, solo travelers, etc and while we don’t want to turn you away, what we know is family based RV stuff.
Lastly, you can expect to learn how to make money as you travel. Since I have been carving out an income online for nearly 3 years now I have plenty of real world experience to teach you how if you want to know. And no there aren’t gimmicks or snake oil involved.
YouTube Videos
You can expect weekly YouTube videos from us. We plan to create videos around the places we visit, the activities we do, the gear we use and more.
We really enjoy being outdoors so you can expect a lot of hiking, boating, water play type videos.
We also have a plan to allow our oldest daughter to have a playlist on our channel which will allow her to talk about RV living full-time from a kids perspective.
Homeschool Journey
We have never homeschooled and this is something we’ve just now had to start thinking about as we dive headlong into RV living.
I have had quite the journey to understanding homeschooling and plan to share some of that on the blog in hopes that what I have learned can help other parents feel more at ease.
Oily Posts
I have a love for essential oils. I know that might scare some of you but I love them and I don’t buy them and share about them to make money. It’s actually quite opposite. I have seen the difference oils have made in our lives and want to share what works for us and how others can benefit as well.
All in All
We are busy people and life is about to get turned totally upside down. Yes we asked for it. Yes we are prepared but even good planning can leave the best planners up a creek without a paddle.
So as we ease into this lifestyle I will be juggling 3 businesses and learning to live in less than 500 square feet with my whole family on board.
My husband is going to have the biggest transition out of any of us though and that will be big for him.
Transitioning out of the military and into civilian life for the first time in a decade will take some time to get used to. He’s not used to being in front of a camera like I am. He’s excited and anxious to get going. He will be heading up Wheeling to Dream as I coach him and help him on the backend.
Together we plan to take on the world one RV campground and amazing boondocking locale at a time.
